The National Irrigation Administration Region XII embraces year 2020 with a colorful symbol of stability together with the simultaneous nationwide celebration of Ushering 2020 with the theme, “Towards Continuing Pursuit for Resiliency and Efficiency through Innovations and Modernization”.
Tree of Life and Handprint: these two ideograms summarize this year’s theme and the continuing goal of the agency. The NIA Tree of Life symbolizes how colorful and interconnected NIA employees are. Trees gain character and beauty, weathering all sorts of trials and challenges to remain strong and upright. This signifies stability, strength, and growth.
The leaves of the NIA Tree of Life were made through the employees’ handprints which represent human’s life, achievement and legacy, creative spirit and channeled energy.
The celebration started from the unveiling of NIA Tree of Life headed by NIA Regional Manager Diosdado A. Rosales, OIC-EOD Manager Teresita R. Pieldad and AFD Manager Tirso M. Sales, Jr. This was followed by the wishes ftrom the two Division Managers and a message of inspiration from the Regional Manager.
In his speech, he congratulated everyone for a job well done for the year 2019. He said that it would not be a success of one without the effort of each hands coming from each staff.
“Look at the tree, the tree symbolized us in NIA which includes the hands, not a close fists but an open palms. That means, people or employees in NIA are willing with an open hands to learn what is to be learned, to work what is to be done and to commit themselves of what is being lined-up for us to do.”
A video greeting was then played coming from NIA Administrator, Gen Ricardo R Visaya (Ret) followed by the drinking of wine as a symbol of happiness, peace, love, and delight for the year 2020. This was celebrated with cheers from NIA Region XII employees.
