May 25, 2021 - National Irrigation Administration Region XII is committed to providing efficient, effective, and sustainable irrigation services for our Filipino farmers. And to monitor these commitments, NIA-Central Office Engineering and Operations Sector created a team to validate and investigate the proposed and ongoing projects in Region XII. This is to assure that projects proposed for the year especially the big-ticket projects are being planned and implemented accordingly.
For this purpose, on May 25, 2021, an Opening Conference was conducted to brief and orient the group from NIA – Central Office about the status of the projects as well as to organize the schedule of the team to the proposed projects to be validated and investigated within the region.
In his Opening Message, Regional Manager Diosdado A. Rosales was grateful for the initiative of our Deputy Administrator C’zar M. Sulaik for bringing the technical team in the region to guide, assess and validate the ongoing and on-planning project activities.
“With this technical team, I am hopeful that this would help our preparatory activities on our big-ticket projects to move forward,” RM Rosales said.
The Project Validation and Investigation Team was headed by the Deputy Administrator for Engineering and Operations Engr. C’zar M. Sulaik together with the technical personnel coming from the Design and Specifications Division, and Project Planning Division.
“We are here purposely to assist the region upang mapabilis ang preparatory works ng mga big-ticket projects, especially on the pre-construction activities. Sayang naman ang mga projects na ito na naumpisahan na kung hindi matutuloy dahil hindi mabigyan ng pondo,” DAEO Sulaik emphasized.
The said big-ticket projects are expected to provide sufficient irrigation water to farmlands, generate job opportunities during project implementation, and an additional source of hydropower energy in this side of Mindanao.
