General Santos City – To enhance the personnel capabilities on writing letters, memos, and documentation, the National Irrigation Administration Region XII conducted a three-day Technical Writing Training-Workshop to its employees on October 11-13, 2021 at Microtel by Wyndham, General Santos City.
The participants consist of the Bids and Awards Committee Secretariat, Technical Working Group, Procurement personnel, and employees involved in writing office communications and reports coming from NIA - Regional Office, South Cotabato Irrigation Management Office, and Sultan Kudarat Irrigation Management Office.
Melissa Marie G. Bautista, Ed.D. served as the Resource Speaker who enlightened the participants' understanding of the Technical Writing Process and Principles, Essential Technical Writing Skills, Audience Analysis, and Writing Memos, Letters, and Proposals.
The three-day training was composed of lecture discussions, group writing exercises, critiquing of outputs, and coaching to enhance the participants' writing skills for them to produce clear and effective technical documents.
In her closing message, Administrative and Finance Division Manager Angelita B. Barcelona emphasized the importance of the training to help the employees to communicate the message effectively and be more competent at their work.
The training workshop is part of the Agency’s attainment of its strategic themes of technical and operational excellence through enhancing personnel’s competence.
