Training on Digital Social Media Marketing, Data Privacy, and Cybersecurity Capacitates NIA XII Employees

Koronadal City – Around 30 employees of the National Irrigation Administration Region XII completed a three-day Digital Social Media Marketing, Data Privacy, and Cybersecurity Training on October 13-15, 2021, at Paraiso Verde, Koronadal City participated by the different provinces in NIA Region XII.

The Institutional Development Section (IDS) of NIA Region XII facilitated the said training in support to the Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP) Program of the government. The EPAHP Program aimed to mitigate hunger and reduce poverty in the country through the collaboration of different government agencies such as the feeding programs. These feeding programs should source their produce and food items from local farmers that NIA can facilitate.

Through this activity, new trainers were taught to assist the Irrigators’ Associations to market their farm-produced products to reach their customers through the social media platform. With the current health crisis caused by the pandemic, Digital Social Media Marketing is an effective way for farmer-beneficiaries to engross the marketing of their agricultural products/services to a broader reach.

The training also included the understanding of Data Privacy and Cybersecurity. This is to ensure that personal information is secured and protected as technological innovations liberalize information sharing.

Engr. Hannah Grace M. Parcon, ECT., Engr. Ma. Jessa E. Garsuta, Engr. Damian M. Canizar, Jr. and Engr. Albert C. Gabriel from the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) served as the Resource Speakers of the three-day training.
